Courtney and Jordan’s backyard wedding was basically a DIY dream. Every detail was lovingly handmade, from the tabletop ornaments and thank-you jars of jam to the food that was made in the country kitchen. The tents were strung up the night before and decor was brought in large tubs. Family and friends were appointed bartenders and the chickens acted as supervisors.
Jordan and Courtney didn’t want to make a big production of their wedding- they wanted to have a low-stress day, commit to one another and be surrounded by their loved ones. The bride’s parents’ backyard provided the perfect location for their wedding.
After the ceremony we headed down to Transfer Beach Park to film and photograph the couple and their wedding party. A rainy morning turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon.
Jordan and Courtney’s reception was lit by decorative lights and candles, setting a warm and intimate mood.
I got to travel up-island to Ladysmith a few times to have long chats with these two, which was a lot of fun. Courtney and Jordan are one of the sweetest, most kind-hearted couples I’ve been lucky enough to work with. As an apparent cat lady, I love it when I find out my couples are cat people too. I was a little bummed that their tuxedo cat-son Samson couldn’t make it as cats are generally not social creatures, but he was there in spirit!
I wish these two fantastic cat people a lifetime of love and laughter!
