Westin Bear Mountain Wedding :: C&J

One of my favourite things about filming weddings is that I get to learn about people before, during, and after their wedding. Picking up little bits and pieces as I go along and working with that to tell their individual story.

Chris and Jen booked me last minute, so I didn’t get much of a chance to get to know them before their wedding day- but after spending that day with them, I felt like I had a good long glimpse into their lives- through their family, friends, and of course- the couple themselves.

Both small town kids from different towns in British Columbia, Jen and Chris found common ground with their love of sports, especially volleyball- a passion that took them both to university.

After they met, Jen couldn’t wait to show Chris Mt. Doug (I can understand this- the stunning 360-degree view of Victoria is something that cannot be missed- I often bring my out-of-town friends up here.) Chris later decided this was the perfect spot to propose to his beautiful girlfriend- with the help of some sneaky friends and a photographer!

Their ceremony was held at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort, in the gorgeous ceremony circle. Afterwards we headed to a special rustic spot- with Chris and Jen in their big yellow school bus- where I got to witness the girls from Mint & Lime Photography in action. The reception was held at the Royal Colwood Golf Club.

What a fun day! I’m so glad I got to tell Chris and Jen’s story. Check out their highlight video below:
