I met Cassidy on a random afternoon while I was still in the dreaming stage of my wedding cinematography business- we started chatting about photography and video, weddings, and our similar names (when she leaves me a voicemail, it’s always “Hi Cassie it’s Cassidy” with a giggle.)

I soon found out the Cassidy was crazy about horses and animals in general. She’s been a horse girl most of her life, and currently cares for her horse, Zappa, and two sweet dogs. Her photography often showcases the relationships between human and animal.

I haven’t spent a lot of time around horses, so it was a thrill to be near the large animals while filming (I was also a little bit afraid.) They are such beautiful, majestic creatures.

Our wonderful model was Sarah of Fresh View Events, with makeup by Melanie Baird. Our set was Kildara Farms in North Saanich. Sarah is a horse girl herself, and it was definitely interesting (and hilarious) watching her wrangle her three horses for the shoot.
