Vancouver Island Wedding Videography :: K&D {Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, BC}

The best way to describe Kim and Dan’s March wedding was that it was just them- it had Kim and Dan written all over it. Their celebration at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club was full of unique surprises and special moments- from the custom ceremony, down to the child-sized cowboy boots.

The couple’s ceremony was held in Arbutus Ridge Golf Club’s outdoor Japanese garden with a customized seating arrangement- the couple standing in the middle of their family and friends. Working with professional celebrant and wedding officiant Barbara Densmore, Kim and Dan designed a unique and thoughtful ceremony that included humour, inside jokes, and symbolism. Barbara told the story of how they met and how they each showed their true selves to one another. The rings were passed around the circle, with blessings from their loved ones.

Kim and Dan’s wedding featured lovely floral arrangements by Chocolate Lily Floral Design (the tree stumps were specially gathered by co-owner, bridesmaid, and my previous bride Claire.) Kim was a beautiful bride, with makeup by Erin Bradley and hair by Lindsay Case. The reception area was decorated with a rustic feel by Charming Decor.

Kim and Dan have already started their lives together, with two beautiful children- they also joke that they are black and white, with a little grey in the middle. This ceremony was the only one I’ve been to thus far that created a family painting. In the words of Barbara, “Two strong people come together, balance in the middle, and create two incredible children. All four mark this moment in time in their very own way.”
